Our Story

Stockwell Ceramics is a Cornish based crafts company producing high quality, irresistible ranges of handmade ceramic buttons, brooches, pendant necklaces, earrings, cufflinks and hanging decorations. All of the products are handmade in our studio, which overlooks the beautiful Tamar valley in South East Cornwall.

Set up by Mary in 1989, Stockwell Ceramics began by producing hand-thrown domestic pottery but quickly moved into handmade ceramic buttons. As the ranges evolved and the business grew Mary and her team started producing ceramic jewellery and decorations, supplying gift shops, galleries and museum shops with quality gift items. Today Stockwell Ceramics products are stocked in shops, boutiques and galleries across the UK and worldwide including the V&A Museum, British Library, British Museum, National Museum of Scotland, Natural History Museum and the William Morris Gallery among others.

Handmade ceramic buttons continue to be the signature product of Stockwell Ceramics. Many ranges of buttons are available including Floral, Bright and Willow Pattern to name just a few. Each button is individually cut and glazed making them completely unique and irresistible to makers, collectors and anyone looking for a small gift.

We are always happy to discuss special requirements with our customers and work with them to produce quality items. If you are interested in bespoke products click here or if you can’t find what you require just drop us an email.
